Heb. 11v. 1 says that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. A substance is something you can experience physically. The substance spoken about here is the word of God. Faith is hope based on the word of God. Faith is currently being experienced but hope is faith to be experienced in the future. Faith is a now thing but hope is a future thing. The word of God is a physically experienced substance as it can be heard, seen, and felt using the five senses. Rom. 10v. 17 says that faith comes by hearing the message of the word of God. Hearing is a physical experience. After hearing physically, the word sinks into your spirit and you are able to believe what God says in his word. True saving faith is based on God’s word only.
The word of God is contained in the protestant Bible. The Hebrews and Protestants agree on all the books contained in the Old and New Testaments. Faith based on other Bibles, like the Catholic and Jehovah Witness Bibles is fake and demonic. James 2vv. 22-23 says that true faith involves hearing and practicing the word of God. False faith involves hearing and talking about the word of God, but practicing the word of the devil. Any one who fornicates, lies, steals, bribes, masturbates, sodomises, etc., cannot have true faith even if he claims to be a Christian because his or her actions are contrary to the word of God. Faith without the works of faith is dead based on James 2v. 19. Faith involves doing good to others. If you cannot support the needy and poor in society, you do not have the faith of God. You have the faith of demons. James 2v. 20 says that demons believe in God and shudder, but they never practice what God says in his word. So, demons also have faith, and so do sinners on earth. However, their faith is based on human and or demonic things. One does not become a Christian by joining a Church as many tend to teach. You become a Christian by believing in Christ as your personal savior and asking him to save you from your sins.
What many have been calling faith is fake. They go to Church, preach, sing well, give tithes and offerings, and do many other religious rituals and things, but they live in sin. No sin shall enter heaven. The word of God says that the five foolish virgins will be locked out of heaven based on Mat. 25 because they had lamps but no oil. They had faith without accompanying works of faith. If you have faith in Christ, then you must practice what his word says, otherwise your faith will be wrong. Faith is not an emotional thing, or a hope based on other things other than the word of God.
