Tithes and Offerings

There are preachers moving about telling people to give certain amounts of money for different types of miracles. This is contrary to the word of God in Mat. 10v. 8 which says that freely you have been given and freely you should give. The problem is not the asking for support but the way it is done. Miracles are not books or other products to have a predetermined price. Before talking much, let it be settled that supporting ministers of the gospel is a MUST for anyone who claims to be a child of God. Failure to do so is a sin and no sin shall enter heaven. What should be done is that after a person ministers to you, you may have to give your material support as a way of appreciating for what God has done for you through him or her. You should do that whether the minister asks you to bless back or does not.

1 Kings 17 shows how things should be done. Elijah the prophet asked a widow to support him but she refused because she had only little for her and her child. However, Elijah prophesied to her, multiplying the flour and oil, and after that she supported him for three and half years. If a man or woman of God has ministered to you, you may need to support him or her until his or her situation changes for better. Elijah was supported until he went back to his home where he had assets to use. In the same way, if a servant of God is suffering, help him or her until his or her situation improves. That woman fed Elijah for three good years. The problem we have today is that the people we have are not ready to support us even once. They want to get things from God but those God is using, they neglect and fail to fully support. That is why their miracles are not long lasting. They soon lose what they got to the devil because they are not thankful. Luke 8vv. 2-3 shows that women who had been blessed by Jesus spiritually SUPPORTED HIS MINISTRY WITH THEIR MONEY DAILY! It is so sad that men and women of God today are walking almost naked, full of hunger, and suffering in many other ways when people who claim to be God’s people are living luxurious lives, and driving very expensive cars. You are cursed when you call an hungry and almost naked man or woman of God and ask him or to pray for you or to come and officiate your function.

If you choose to support God’s servants, stop procrastinating. Prov. 3v. 28 says that if you have it now, do not tell them you will do it tomorrow. I hate the business of people promising things which they are reluctant to give, or which they give unwillingly only for a show. Many people promise others things which take years when they always have them, and others do it without being requested to help. That is why that Proverb is against procrastination. Mal. 3v. 8 says that failing to give offerings and tithes is stealing from God. You are a thief if you never support the servants of God. That is why many have turned to selling their ministry by telling you to give money to get prayers. You have caused them to fall into sin, and both you and them are going to hell. 1 Cor. 9v. 11 says that when you get spiritual blessings from somebody you should give him or her your material blessings. You are cursed if you are a "con man" or "con woman," getting spiritual blessings and refusing to help the needy servants of God who help you. Gal. 6v. 6 says that those who get instructed should share their material blessings with those who instruct them. Repent and do what is right.

Finally, there are these proud preachers who pretend they never accept offerings from God’s people. If Melchizedek, mentioned in the book of Hebrews accepted them, and he is the manifestation of Jesus on earth in the Old Testament, who are you to refuse offerings? If you do not want to use them yourself, collect them and give to the poor in your Church. It is pride to refuse to accept what God has said you should receive. Jesus accepted offerings which were kept by Judas. Who are you the to refuse to accept them and denounce those who receive them? These false prophets and their followers misquote the Apostle Paul claiming that he never received support from others. However, if you read the Pauline Epistles very clearly, you will realize that Paul was actually supported materially by Christians. He only refused to accept support when he had a good source of income as a tent maker and so did not want to burden the Church. But he always told his Churches to collect offerings to help those who were needy. So, YOU ARE DECEIVED IF YOU THINK YOU ARE FOLLOWING PAUL'S EXAMPLE. YOU ARE LOST, AND YOUR FOLLOWERS ARE LOST. You boast of how you never collect tithes and offerings, but you never explain the source of your money. Paul was a tent maker, what are you? Or may be you are a devil worshiper!??? Repent, you false prophet, and stop negatively speaking against the other servants of God.

Philippians 4vv 16-19 states: "Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Based on this account, APOSTLE PAUL WAS RECEIVING FINANCIAL AND OTHER FORMS OF MATERIAL SUPPORT FROM HIS FOLLOWERS. STOP MISQUOTING THE BIBLE, YOU FALSE PROPHET. IT IS NOT A SIN FOR MINISTERS TO GET FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM GOD'S PEOPLE.
