The Presence of Yahweh

Gen. 1v. 2 says that the Spirit God was hovering (brooding) over the waters. When you see the presence of God hovering or brooding over a certain place, thing, or person, God is about to do something there. The presence of God manifests in many forms, like in the form of a fiery cloud, light, angels, or the likeness of God himself. Deut. 9v. 3 says that God goes ahead of us as a devouring fire. God manifested before Elijah through a strong wind, earthquake, and a still small voice. These are just a few examples of the manifestation of the presence of God.

It is also important to understand what brings about the presence of God. First, the presence of God is brought by the word of God. Jer. 23v. 29 says the word is like fire. When you study the word of God, or meditate on it, and declare it aloud, it brings the presence of God. God acts on his word. When the presence of God brooded over the waters, God spoke and the heavens and the earth and all in them were created. Jesus is the living Word and when he visits as you declare his word, he acts on the declared word. The presence of God is also brought about by prayer. Dan. 9vv. 20-21 says that as Daniel was praying, Gabriel came to him. The angel Gabriel represented the presence of God as he had come to bring God's message to Daniel.

Another thing which brings about the presence of God is preaching. Luke 5v. 17 says that as Jesus was preaching, the power of God was present to heal them. The presence of God is the power of God. Mark 16vv. 15-20 shows that the presence of God is released as one preaches the word of God leading to people believing and speaking in tongues, taking up serpents with their hands, healing the sick, casting out demons, and not being hurt by poison. Jesus confirms his word when you preach it. It releases his power. The presence of God is also brought about by tithes and offerings. 1 Kings 18v. 38 shows how the fire of God came down and consumed Elijah's offering. The presence of God is also brought about by singing based on Acts 16vv. 25-27. Paul and Silas sang and God's presence manifested in the form of an earthquake and loosed their chains and opened the gates of their prison.

Additionally, the presence of God is brought by suffering for Christ Jesus. 2 Cor. 12vv. 9-10 says that the power of God is made perfect in weakness. When God allowed the messengers of Satan to torture Paul, his presence brooded over him. Finally, the presence of God is brought about by doing good to others as well as to the needy and poor. Acts 9vv. 39-42 shows how the presence of God brought resurrection to Dorcas because of the good she did to widows. However, the presence of God is not brought about by dumb idols or similar things based on Exo. 20vv. 4-5 and John 4vv. 21-24. The images used by pagans and Roman Catholics do not represent Yahweh. His presence is brought by his Spirit and messengers, but not by idols and places.

The Word of God

Ps. 119v. 130 says that the entrance of the words of God gives light and understanding to the simple. When the word of God enters our hearts, we get a revelation, and this revelation enables us to know what God is saying to us. This revelation is the light we we are referring to. Without revelation knowledge, you are full of darkness. Josh. 1v. 8 commands us to study and meditate on the word and speak it day and night. Through meditation the word enters into our spirits, and we get light in our spirits. If you cannot study the word prayerfully, your life will be perpetually full of darkness. The revelation of the word of God brings wisdom.

Ps. 119v. 105 says that the word is a lamp for your feet and a light for your path. As you study the word, your spiritual feet are protected that you do not step into the traps and snares of the enemy. If you have no revelation of God's word in you, you will get trapped by Satanic traps and you will fail miserably in your life. The word illuminates your path so that you can see from afar. God knows the end from the beginning and so he illuminates the whole way for you. Darkness cannot stand before you when you fill yourself with the word of God.

2 Tim. 3v. 16 says that the word is inspired by God. The word is God's word and so the light is God's light. When you speak the word, you release light which chases away all the darkness of Satan. This word is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. The word is the source of faith. When you reason with God by his word, you get faith. By that faith you get saved. Faith is the only gift of God which we receive without faith. We get it by reason.

John 1v. 1 says that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. Jesus is the living Word, and he is our light. When you have Jesus, you have light in you. When you have Satan, you have darkness in your heart. There are three types of the word of God, namely the written word, the spoken word, and the living word. All three are one and none can exist alone. Without any of these, there is only darkness, and this darkness is great. The word is spirit based on John 6v. 63. So the light we have in our lives is spiritual light from God.

The Love of God

1 John 4v. 8 says that whoever does not love does not know God because God is love. The love of God is infinite. We have an infinite love in us. We love God first by obeying his commands based on John 15v. 10. If you cannot obey the word of God you do not have love. You have the love of the world, not of God. God is love but love is not God. We worship God but not love. God is good but good is not God. If you have the love of God, you will do the works of faith. Faith without works is dead just as a body without the spirit is dead based on James 2v. 26.

Love brings about several things. One of them is salvation. John 3v. 16 says that God loved the world so much that he gave his son to die on a cross to save us. Love also brings about deliverance. Gal. 3v. 13 says that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. There are 59 biblical curses against mankind due to sin. Christ has redeemed us from all of them. The love of God is creative. It was due to that love that God created all things. He wanted angels in heaven and mankind on earth to show his love to. His love brings creative miracles of restoraton of lost body organs, like legs, hands, etc.

The love of God also brings about unity. Gen. 2v. 24 says a man shall leave his parents and be united with his wife and the two shall become one flesh. Satan wants to take over the unity brought by love to cause sin. He did so by influencing the people to build the tower of Babel rebelling against God who had told them to scatter and fill the earth. The devil knows how powerful love is. Love also brings about good deeds. Gal. 6v. 9 says we should not give up good doing but should do good to all men, firstly those of the household of faith. Because of love, we share with those who instruct us based on Gal. 6v. 6. Because of love we give tithes based on Mal. 3v. 10. Love brings about purity. 1 Cor. 6v. 9 says that our bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost. Purity comes from study of the word of God. John 15v. 3 says that we are clean because of the word God has spoken to us. The word is like water which cleanses us. Finally, the love of God brings about boldness. 1 John 4v. 18 says there is no fear in love. Love, an infinite attribute of God works with justice. Love is not synonymous to being soft or lack of punishment to wrong doers. In fact, love will compel one to judge wrong doers based on the law of God.
