God Judges Based on Both Inward and Outward Behavior

There are those who keep saying to others not to denounce evil outward behavior claiming God does not look at the outward appearance but the inside. They usually misquote 1 Sam. 16v. 7 which talks about God not looking at the outward appearance but on the inside. However, they forget that God’s word does not say that God does not judge people based on how they behave outwardly, specifically, how they dress in public. First, let the reader understand that 1 Sam. 16v. 7 does not talk about outward behavior but physical appearance, specifically in that case, physical strength of a military king of Israel. Kings were supposed to be strong people to lead their nations in war. David was weak compared to his strong brothers, but God chose him and trained him to become strong in battle. So, that verse DOES NOT REFER TO OUTWARD BEHAVIOR BUT PHYSICAL APPEARANCE OF PEOPLE. It is therefore sinful to quote that verse to support bad dressing in public places.

Mat. 7v. 16 states that we shall know them by their fruits. Fruits are outward manifestations of what is inside our spirits. Mat. 15v. 19 says that adultery and sexual immorality come from inside. What is seen in public is a manifestation of what is inside and you shall be judged based on it. Prov. 7v. 10 makes reference to the dressing of a prostitute. If you dress like a prostitute, exposing the secret parts of your body, it means that you behave like a prostitute and that you are trying to attract clients. 1 Tim. 2v. 9 commands women to dress decently. The Bible is concerned about your outward behavior because it manifests what is inside. Jesus commanded that we wash the cup on the inside and outside. Claiming God does not look at the outside character like dressing is like washing a cup on the inside and leaving it dirty on the outside. Nobody can drink from a cup which is dirty on the outside. How the hell do you expect God to approve outward behavior which is bad based on this account?

I have a letter which was written to me warning I would be dismissed for rebuking a student who was dressed like a prostitute, where I quoted Prov. 7v. 10 to her instructing her to dress decently. The Principal later interdicted me using a cover up case simply because of my faith and my advice to students to practice the Christian faith as written in the Bible if they claimed to be Christians. The Bible has many examples of cases where God punished people for their evil outward behavior. Ananias and Saphira were killed for wrong outward character. The same applied to King Herod, Nadab and Abihu, Korah and his whole family. Strange dress code usually aimed at arousing sexual desire is a sin and should be denounced. I am not talking about the make of clothes. Unisex clothes are acceptable as long as they are decent. Women can wear trousers if the trousers are decent. We are not under the Old Testament laws but under the law of Christ.
